Going Green? I am tired of all the Buzz
Everytime I turn on the television I see an informercial or a star “GOING GREEN!” What is the freaking big deal anyways? I saw the episode of The Fabolous Lane with Kimora Lee Simmons and I saw her ‘green rating’ it was poor. This girl drives a bentley along with about 6 other cars and puts on makeup like its cake batter. She lives in a mansion and probably doesn’t care much about the electricity because of her bank roll ex-husband. I am tired of all this buzz with going green. All these stars are claiming to go green.. yeah wonderful you go green by buying organic food and buying go green materials and stuff. But what the heck? you aren’t even freaking getting rid of your bentleys and all those fancy lcds, plasmas, stereos, etc that you have in your house. How possibly can you go green if you are that rich? All it is is a freaking publicity stunt. These stars go out there and try to ‘go green’ as if they are helping earth why don’t you help earth by not smoking your drugs, weed, ciggarretes etc? how bout that for going green you hypocritical fake zealots of the earth. Going green doesn’t exist, its only a publicity stunt and businesses and companies will take advantage of this ‘go green’ attitude to make money off it.

I very much agree with you that all this “going green” is a publicity stunt with most of those high-profile people. However some, really want to help — it’s just sad that these honest people are not getting the publicity they so deserve because the spotlight is on celebs. I for one really want to make at least three artificial (small) “reef domes” if I can have just the extra moolah for making them.

I agree. The problem isn’t solved by carrying around a paper fiber
sack for your groceries or buying a few ridiculously overpriced
vegetables. If “Green” means “expensive” it’s not going to fly. It’s
solved by cutting back on consumption, pure and simple.
Green is just another buzz word. Let’s start by actually doing something
constructive to save the environment. How about banning bottled
water for a start? How about a standard size and shape for all glass
bottles so they can be recyled. How about a ban on individual snacks
packed in plastic bubbles. Paper towels perforated in 1/4 sheets. No
glossy ad inserts in newspapers. Real soutions to the problem ..
Small things, but together they add up to real changes.

Yep. I really dislike water bottles. Handy for campers and emergency situations but for everyday consumption they should go.
